Eightbitoids 1.1 is released! Please read the following release notes for details of the changes.
- Disabled Fullscreen switching
- Disabled window resize
- Disabled interpolate between colors
- Disabled anti-aliasing on fonts
- Calculate zoom level relative to display width
- Fixed a bug with asteroid and enemy ship collisions where asteroid was not being destroyed
- Fixed a bug where dying on your last ship but scoring enough for an extra ship would still game over
- Changed the asteroid split logic to support new split count option (see below). Large and Medium Asteroids will always split into at least 2 smaller asteroids, but can go as high as 4
- Added escape key handler for closing menu
- Changed "P" key handler to only start from the Game Over screen
- Changed the font on the menu to be Dust Dot like the rest of the text in the game
- Changed the font size on the menu to allow for more options
- Changed the checkbox size on the menu to allow for more options
- Added a radio button control for options
- Added a sound for exceeding highest score in this session
- Increased menu overlay height to allow for more options
- Added option to score beyond the original Atari 2600 maximum of 99999
- Added option to set beginning ship count other than the original Atari 2600 default of 4
- Added option for large and medium asteroids to break into 2, 3, or 4 asteroids instead of the previous 2
- Added option to increase the maximum number of new asteroids after clear from 8
- Added option to display shot accuracy to the right of the score
- Added support for Opera GX
- Added Challenges for Opera GX
- Highest Score - Classic Mode - closest to Atari 2600 Asteroids mode 1
- Highest Score - Medium Mode - harder than Classic Mode
- Highest Score - Hard Mode - harder than Medium Mode
- Highest Score - Brutal Mode - 1 ship, 1 chance!
